TPL Podcast is back with a new season!! With a new Co-Host!

Maggie Mick has joined The Political Life podcast as co-host. Maggie is in the leadership group of the state and local government relations consultancy, MultiState - a PPHC firm, located in the Washington, D.C. area. The first episode of the new season will be next week with Reid Wilson from Pluribus News!!

[00:00:00] Welcome back to another episode. Well, this isn't really an episode. This is more of a teaser.

[00:00:25] This is your host, Jim O'Brien, and I have some very exciting news about the future

[00:00:30] of The Political Life podcast. Over the past three years, we have met some very interesting people.

[00:00:37] And one of those people, one of the more interesting people has been Maggie Mick of

[00:00:42] Multistate, who some of you may remember, has hosted some of her, hosted her own show here

[00:00:49] on The Political Life podcast. Well, I have decided that I really could use some assistance in

[00:00:56] co-hosting or hosting this show. And I have asked Maggie to join me in doing that.

[00:01:03] And so after nearly 260 solo episodes, Maggie has agreed to join me in helping to co-host the show

[00:01:12] and possibly spearheading some of her own shows and interviews one on one, which will be great.

[00:01:19] And Maggie is part of Multistate and prior to Multistate, she was at the Council of State

[00:01:25] Governments and she is just well known in the government relations space. Everybody knows Maggie,

[00:01:34] and Maggie seems to have an incredible network of people to reach out to. So I couldn't be more

[00:01:39] excited to have her helping out on the show and joining me here. So Maggie, welcome.

[00:01:45] Thank you, Jim. I am honored by the opportunity to join you and look forward to the fun that

[00:01:52] we will have. I have been a fan of your podcast since it first launched, learning about folks that

[00:01:59] I've known for years and those that I've never met. It's been fun to hear their stories and

[00:02:05] learn about their careers. So Jim and I, as we've been thinking about this next chapter of the

[00:02:11] podcast, we thought about the magic that has been the past 250, 260 episodes and how we want

[00:02:19] to turn it towards the future. And we thought bringing forward the professionals and the leaders

[00:02:25] that are really driving the news to make not only these conversations helpful and interesting,

[00:02:30] but also timely. So we endeavor to bring forward those power brokers, those policy experts,

[00:02:38] pollsters and even politicians. We'll ask them for their insights into the debate,

[00:02:44] the political race of the day, or just the big story and most importantly how they landed in

[00:02:49] the middle of it. So again, some of the old magic and some of a new approach.

[00:02:57] Thanks, Maggie. This is going to be fun and it's going to be new and improved. I'm really

[00:03:02] looking forward to it. So folks, stay tuned. Our new and first episode will be coming soon.
